Yet, Airlift works because it conveys a time when armies will attack civilians – you’re struck by how IS was born from the Iraqi army’s core – and raises Bollywood’s generic bar. So, Airlift has one of Akshay Kumar’s best performances – along with other sterling acts. Ratings:4/5 Review By:Srijana Das Site:TOI One of the finest films to come out of the Hindi film industry. Ratings:– Review By:Taran Adarsh Site:Twitter Raja Menon turns an important story into a compelling film. The occasional speed bumps aside, there are many moments that soar. Ratings:3.5/5, Review By:Rajeev Masand, Site:CNN IBNīased on the largely forgotten real-life incident that involved the evacuation of 1,70,000 Indians stuck in Kuwait, Airlift is the inspiring story of an ordinary man who turns into a hero when faced with extraordinary circumstances.I’m going with three-and-a-half out of five for Airlift. Here are the top reviews for the movie ‘Airlift’ from the top critics/newspaper available online. Lots of good dialogues, especially the line: “Aadmi ki fitrat aisi hai jab chot lagti hai toh maa maa hi chillata hai”Īlthough the movie is based on the events in Kuwait, the movie was reportedly shot in Ras al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates (made to depict Kuwait during the 1990s), whereas the second schedule of the film will be shot in Rajasthan, India. Rating: 4.50 / 5.The movie struck a chord with all those Indians who are settled abroad, especially in Middle East.

Do not even think about giving this a miss, you may end loosing a good two something hours of your life. He has induced the elements of wit, love, drama, war and patriotism making the movie even more worthwhile. The research that has gone into bringing a mishap like this in front of the people is enough to tell what Menon is capable of. Filmmaker Raja Menon is one dedicated man and the way in which he has put his whole and soul in the film is clearly seen. The movie not just has the best of all worlds but is one of the best Bollywood films that you may come across in a very very very long time.

Nothing, and I mean nothing in the face of earth can not prove Airlift to be swaying or gritty. Rest of the cast including Feryna Wazheir, Inaamulhaq, Lena, Purab Kohli, Kumud Mishra and Prakash Belawadi throw in some fabulous acts and are perfect in their parts. She speaks with her eyes and sure needs to be seen a lot more in Bollywood. From displaying various emotions onscreen to expressing grief and rage with such perfection, Akshay is a treat to watch in every scene. No other actor could have played the part better than what he does. Akshay Kumar, who plays the main protagonist, is better than apt for the role. The movie speaks of the unparalleled courage of the unsung heroes that was long-lost in the history. It has been a long time since a movie has managed to wake-up the Indian residing inside each of us and Airlift does just that. He along with 1.70 lakh Indians is evacuated from Kuwait to reach India safe and how, forms the rest of the story. It is only after a mishap strikes Kuwait and Iraqi soldiers invade Kuwait, that he realizes his worth for his homeland. Ranjit is proud to be a Kuwaiti and hates every little thing that reminds him of his Indianness. He is powerful enough to tackle all is problems and lead a wonderful life.

Smart and shrewd businessman Ranjt Katiyal (Akshay Kumar) resides in Kuwait along with his wife (Nimrat Kaur) and daughter. But good things need to be shared, so here we go. Even before the movie hit the theatres, we have been hearing some extremely good reviews about Akshay Kumar starrer 'Airlift' and we needed to see it to believe it and we did and we are speechless.
